Disclaimer

Last updated: 30 July 2026

This page explains the limits of what you should expect from the content on whatnwhy.com. It exists because being clear about what we are not is just as useful as being clear about what we are.

The Short Version

  • Everything here is educational, not professional advice for your specific situation
  • We do not guarantee rankings, traffic, leads, sales, or income
  • Our calculators are estimation tools, not forecasts
  • Marketing platforms change constantly, so always confirm details with official sources
  • We earn from advertising and, in some cases, affiliate commissions
  • Results depend on your business, and yours will differ from anyone else's

The sections below explain each of these properly.

1. General Information Only

Everything published on whatnwhy.com is for general information and education. It is written for a broad audience of business owners and marketers, which means it cannot account for your particular business, your market, your budget, or your competition.

Reading this site does not create any professional or client relationship between you and WhatNWhy.

2. Not Professional Advice

Our content is not professional, legal, financial, tax, or accounting advice. We are a digital marketing publication, not an advisory firm.

Where an article touches on budgets, costs, or spending decisions, it is describing how something generally works, not telling you what to do with your money. Before making a significant commercial decision, speak to a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

3. No Guaranteed Results

We do not guarantee any outcome. Not rankings, not traffic, not leads, not sales, not return on ad spend, and not income.

Digital marketing results depend on factors no article can control: your offer, your pricing, your website, your competition, your market, your timing, your budget, and how consistently you apply what you learn. Two businesses following identical advice routinely see completely different outcomes.

Search engines and advertising platforms also make their own decisions. Google does not publish its ranking systems, Meta changes its delivery constantly, and neither owes any website a particular position or cost.

Where our articles mention benchmarks or industry ranges, those are general reference points from published sources, not predictions of what you will achieve. Treat them as context, not targets.

Anyone who guarantees you a specific ranking, a specific cost per lead, or a specific income from digital marketing is either guessing or selling something. We will not do either.

4. Calculators and Tools

The free calculators on this site perform arithmetic on the numbers you enter. They are planning and estimation tools, nothing more.

A calculator cannot know your industry's real costs, your conversion rate, your seasonality, or how your competitors will behave. The output shows you what the maths says given your inputs. It does not tell you what will happen.

We take care to make them accurate, but we do not warrant that they are free of errors, and we are not responsible for decisions made on the basis of their output. If you find a problem with one, please tell us and we will fix it.

5. Accuracy and Currency

We research our content carefully, cite sources where we can, and correct mistakes when they are pointed out. Even so, digital marketing changes quickly.

Platform interfaces move, features are renamed or retired, policies are updated, and benchmark figures shift year to year. An article that was accurate when published may contain details that have since changed.

Always confirm current details with the official source, such as Google Search Central, Google Ads Help, or Meta Business Help, before acting on anything time sensitive. Where we quote a figure, check the original source rather than relying on our summary of it.

If you spot something on this site that is out of date or wrong, please tell us. We would rather fix it than defend it.

6. Advertising Disclosure

This website displays advertising through Google AdSense and may work with other advertising partners. This is how the site pays for itself and stays free to read.

Advertisements are served by third parties. We do not choose which specific ads appear, we do not endorse the products advertised, and we have no relationship with the advertisers. An ad appearing here is not a recommendation from us.

How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out of personalised advertising, is explained in our Privacy Policy.

7. Affiliate Disclosure

Some articles on this site contain affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy something, we may receive a commission. This costs you nothing extra.

Affiliate relationships do not influence what we recommend or how we describe a tool. We do not accept payment for positive coverage. If a product has a weakness that matters, we say so, whether we earn from it or not.

Where a link is an affiliate link, it is disclosed on the page it appears on. Any tool we recommend is one we consider genuinely useful for the purpose described.

8. Sponsored and Guest Content

We publish guest contributions from other writers, and these are paid placements. We charge a publishing fee, which is disclosed openly on our Write For Us page.

Guest posts carry the author's byline, and the views in them belong to the author rather than to us. Every submission still goes through editorial review, and we reject work that is copied, thin, or inaccurate regardless of the fee.

All outbound links in guest posts are marked rel="nofollow sponsored", in line with Google's guidance on paid links.

9. External Links

We link to other websites, particularly official documentation from Google, Meta, Microsoft, and similar sources. We link to them because they are useful, not because we control or endorse everything on them.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any external site. Once you follow a link away from here, their terms and policies apply.

10. Examples and Scenarios

Our articles often use examples to illustrate a point, such as a local plumber running a lead campaign or a small store testing a product ad.

These are illustrative scenarios, not documented case studies. They are written to show how a principle applies in practice. They are not claims about real clients, and the numbers in them are worked examples rather than reported results.

Where we do cite real data, we name the source. If a figure appears without a source, treat it as an estimate and check it yourself.

11. Views Expressed

The views expressed in our articles are those of the author. Guest posts reflect the views of the contributor who wrote them, and comments reflect the views of the person who left them.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Google, Meta, Microsoft, or any other platform we write about. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for the purpose of education and commentary.

12. Your Own Responsibility

Any action you take based on the content of this website is your own responsibility. You are best placed to judge what suits your business, and we cannot make that judgement for you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhatNWhy is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content, including loss of profit, revenue, data, or business opportunity.

This disclaimer should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
